This project was inspired by the tragic murder of Marielle Franco in Brazil. Despite the challenges, we successfully completed a new teaser, thanks to the support of the Sundance Film Institute, AXS Film Fund, and NYSCA. This project holds immense importance as it seeks to amplify the voices of marginalized communities and honor Marielle Franco's legacy. We are now closer than ever to sharing this powerful story with the world.

PRESENTE! is a cross-generational story about a new wave of Black women occupying positions of political leadership through their profound resilience and strength in the face of the extreme sexism and shocking racism that many people are unaware of outside Brazil. It's a narrative that can incite change and provoke action through the inspiring lives of our subjects. It will be these women who speak, telling a story that continues to unfold with the course of history.
